Love & Longing — Immersive & Present-Tense

Dusty summer cycles

Dusty summer cycles Through pink clouds and golden wisps Soft beats in ears that have been underground, Pulsating lights and thick smoke He lapped up the salt From my dripping crevices Back and front he circled my skin hungry, thirsty, insatiable and I delighted in his eyes Deep, dark, and delirious, bones and curls and pills, the fingers we use to explore, the stories we tell about who we were and who we will be. It is terribly beautiful, I sink into the present, full of pure desire, expectation, no expectation, because what’s the point, we drink the night, we inhale the night, we devour each other perhaps or at least we hope to eat something to fill our empty stomachs, our empty futures I know death is near but life is all we have.
