Love & Longing — Immersive & Present-Tense

I can see the sea in your open mouth

I can see the sea in your open mouth. The salt snakes meander around your teeth And the dappled stars on the waves of your tongue Scatter when I blink, like frosted teardrops, Melting on the palm of my hand. A brief interlude of light before the mouth closes And my eyes adjust back to the darkness.
