Impermanence & Loss

I don't know when my last day will be

I don’t know when my last day will be But sometimes I know I’ve made the most of it with the time I’ve had And some moments stand out and they are vaporous But they are treasures I can touch when I close my mind The essences of people I’ve crossed, Like a breeze from an open window. I wish I could draw it, A piece of art I could hang on my wall, The invisible strings between us Pin points dotted around the globe A star in the dark Some clustered quarks An algorithm in the vacuum Nowhere.
