Love & Longing — Immersive & Present-Tense

Ojos de Anubis

Every corner of you burns with red sunsets, My fingers grasp at the words, Formless shapes of lives I cannot remember, I cannot drown now, not today, With all this new saliva, new tears, new mouth On my mouth that tastes like midnight spells. My eyes drink in the sunshine of Anubis, That you offered as toll On the shores of this new world. I rowed for years, I lost my pearls and fears, In the thunder of this evening, This moment of arrival, While you sewed music through my soul. The poem is dry with old honey, Because you were here before, And I remembered in the caramel aisle, That you were a poem I had forgotten.
