The words are underwater
The words are underwater In the dark Forever drowned, Your face no longer in the sunlight. Other faces are erased, Because the pain opens eyes, Closes hearts And shows me some people Were never there In my life To begin with. And I’m still alive, Like you’d always say. Now I carry this abyss For the next 40 years. You only lived with it For 10 years. And in 48 hours we returned To a place I called Home But is it home? I don’t know Anymore. I don’t know why I am so far. I never questioned my solitude I guess I could call And across the ocean I would hear your voice. And now the lines Have been cut, There is just silence And memories That will fade And will my heart fade With them? Will my fate be silence and static.
There is a little apple Growing outside your house And on my arm To remember me by.
