When I woke, I placed my dreams of you
When I woke, I placed my dreams of you under the pillow, so that I could find you again in the dark. But by evening, the dreams had turned to dust and they spilled over the bed, onto the floor, filling the room, filling my lungs. It got under my fingernails, in my hair, I tried to scratch you away, red marks on my skin. Maybe I would suffocate, from my decaying dreams. I lay on the floor, and inhaled.
